Old Town Magic Festival
This is the big city festival in Klagenfurt! - Magicians, stiltwalkers, jugglers on the streets and in the alleyways, live bands on the squares and thousands of people strolling around are amazed by the magic of the spectacle unfolding before their eyes in Klagenfurt's old town centre.
In the meantime, visitors can enjoy a delicious snack at one of the many open-air gastronomy stands, or have a cool drink at one of the numerous outdoor bars, then enjoy rummaging around at one of the largest flea markets and jumble sales in Austria - exclusively at the Old Town Magic Festival!

75^th Klagenfurter Herbstmesse

For the 75^th time already the fair "Klagenfurter Herbstmesse" with amusement park is taking place in the exhibition halls of Klagenfurt am Wörthersee. On an exhibition area of  90.000 m² visitors will find about 600 exhibitors. Find out about Interior Design, Construction and Heating, Fashion, Culinary Delights and much more. Younger guests can visit the "jugend 08" - youth fair and the popular amusement park (10 a.m. - 2 a.m.)

Ursula Market
Enamel pots, aprons, wooden toys - they're all still there, the good things in life! And woe to anyone who speaks of junk when strolling around the traditional Ursula Market in Klagenfurt. Here you are able to find everything that you have never looked for but should definitely have at home. And the tastiest fried sausages, the best chestnuts and the finest mulled wine are also available for consumption at this October festival in Klagenfurt.
The big hit for kids is the big kiddies' zoo with delightful animals from rabbits to donkeys.

Carinthian Horse Festival

The Magic of Christmas at Klagenfurt´s Christmas Market

For many of us, the most beautiful time of the year begins in November, for it is then that the Christkindlmarkt, Klagenfurt´s Christmas Market, once again opens its doors! From November 24th to December 24th, 2008, young and old can enjoy the unique flair of this seasonal event, boasting over 70 market stands and open daily. The stylish, rustic atmosphere, the attractive programme of fringe events for all ages along with the rich variety of foods and drinks that are available have been turing any visit to the Klagenfurt Christmas Market into a memorable experience for over 15 years.

Festival of German-language Literature
In June Klagenfurt turns into the capital of literature. The highlights of the Festival of German-language Literature (Tage der deutschsprachigen Literatur) are readings and discussions focussing on the renowned Ingeborg Bachmann Prize. The literature week starts off with the "Klagenfurt Literature Course" (Klagenfurter Literaturkurs), in which select authors of the future are able to work on their texts together with renowned writers.
